1-800-Flowers expands gift basket line with acquisition (InternetRetailer.com)
1-800-Flowers.com Inc. has acquired DesignPac Gifts LLC, a Melrose Park, IL-based designer and assembler of gourmet gift baskets. DesignPac Gifts also produces other food gifts including a range of branded and private label components. The purchase price was approximately $36 million in cash.

Students to raise money for cystic fibrosis (The News-Times)
DANBURY -- Five themed baskets will be raffled Sunday to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in a project organized by two Danbury High School seniors.Emily Hart and Kristina Bundra will raffle baskets with restaurant gift certificates, spa materials, tickets to sporting events and summer activities worth $2,100 at the annual Great Strides Walkathon, which benefits the foundation.
